Laredo – 55-year-old Man Died Following Auto vs Bicycle Crash on McPherson Road

A fatal bicycle accident on McPherson Road caused the death of one person, according to a local news source.
Friday, at around 8:45 p.m., Laredo troopers were requested at the 5500 block of McPherson Road to assist in a crash involving a bicyclist. A preliminary investigation shows that a silver Land Rover reportedly struck a bicyclist whose identification has not been released at this time. The bicyclist sustained various injuries including a deformity to his right leg. He was immediately taken to Laredo Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased by medical crews.
No one else was injured, as per reports.
Authorities did not release the identification of the driver who struck the victim. It was not confirmed if he will be charged.
The crash is being investigated by the Laredo Police Department.
