Kingsville – Child Among Victims of Crash on Highway 77

At least three people were injured following a fatal car accident on Highway 77 near Riviera, Tuesday afternoon, Texas Department of Public Safety officials said.
According to initial reports, the accident took place on Hwy 77, about a quarter mile south of SH 285. At around 4:00 p.m., a suburban was seen heading north along the highway when it went over a median and onto the path of a tractor-trailer that was traveling on the southbound lanes.
The impact of the collision killed a two-year-old child who was in a car seat. The driver of the suburban, whose identity has not been released, and another passenger suffered from serious injuries. They were rushed to Corpus Christi Hospitals for treatment.
An identified woman and another child were also injured. They were all taken to a nearby hospital. Their conditions remain unknown.
An investigation is underway.
