Kilgore – Two-Vehicle Collision on FM 349 Leaves 2 Dead

A fatal semi-truck crash on Farm to Market Road 349 caused the death of two people on, according to a local news source.

According to initial reports, the incident took place on FM 349 near US Highway 259. Police said a 2004 Nissan Altima was travelling along the highway when it suddenly crashed into an 18-wheeler truck as it approaches the intersection. The force of the impact killed the driver of the Nissan. His passenger, identified only as a 17-year-old male occupant, was rushed to Good Shepard Medical Center where he was given further medical attention. However, he later died.

Two more occupants in the Altima were hospitalized due to the injuries sustained from the impact. Their condition was not immediately released.

Police did not release information about the driver of the truck.

An investigation is underway.
