Johnson County – Child Who Died in Single-Vehicle Accident on FM 3048 ID’d

A nine-year-old Cleburne boy was pronounced deceased following a solo-car crash on Farm to Market Road 3048 in Johnson County.
The fatality was identified as Joseph Lewis Byers.
According to the report, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m., Sunday, along FM 3048 near County Road 704A. A red 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt was seen traveling along westbound lane of the when, for yet unknown reasons, it went out of control and overturned a number of times. As the car turns upside down, a child passenger, Joseph Bryers, was thrown off the car, leaving him seriously injured. Byers was immediately taken to a Fort Worth hospital where he later died.
The driver of the car also sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. She was identified as 39-year-old Ethel Morehead-Sadler, of Joshua.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
