Johnson City – Two-Vehicle Accident on US 281

A vehicle collision between two cars on Highway 281 resulted in the death of two people, according to a local news source.
Just before 7:00 a.m., police were dispatched to Hwy 281 in response to a call reporting a vehicular accident. Initial investigation indicates that two vehicles, for yet unknown reasons, crashed into each other. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found two people suffering from significant injuries. They were later pronounced deceased by local paramedics.
No one else was injured.
Authorities withheld the victims’ identifications pending notification of their next of kin.
the incident took place just after 7:00 p.m. at the 800 block of East William Cannon Drive. Beasley was seen crossing the street when a passing car struck him. Police said the vehicle was attempting to switch lanes when the accident happened. The impact of the crash seriously injured Beasley, killing him in the process.
