Joaquin – Man Killed in FM 2787 Crash ID’d

The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the name of the driver who died in a deadly vehicle collision on Farm to Market Road 2787 in Joaquin, last Friday.

The fatality was identified as 44-year-old Johnnie Briggs.

According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 3:00 p.m. A pickup truck was seen traveling along FM 2787 when it crashed into a tree. Police said the truck reportly left the roadway for yet unknown reasons. The driver, Johnnie Briggs, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

No one else was injured.

Joaquin police were also requested at the scene to determine the cause of the crash. The investigation is still in progress.
