Jersey City police officer hit by stolen vehicle

JERSEY CITY, TX – A Jersey City police officer was hit by a stolen vehicle on the afternoon of Thursday, July 23, according to KHOU 11.
Authorities say that a police officer responded to a report of a stolen car at a Shell gas station located at 17300 Northwest Freeway at about 12:45 p.m. When the officer approached the vehicle, driver Daniel Brian Holmes struck the officer.
After being hit, the officer opened fire and shot the suspect in the arm and shoulder. He was rushed to the hospital and will be detained once he is released.
