Jefferson County – Robert Harlan Ejected from Vehicle Following a Crash on Highway 73

Four people were hospitalized, including a child, after a major rear-end collision on Highway 73 near LaBelle Road, Saturday evening.
At around 8:15 p.m., local troopers responded to a car accident involving two vehicles on Highway 73. According to initial reports, a Dodge Charger was seen traveling along the highway at an unsafe speed when it struck the rear side of a Honda SUV heading on the same direction. The impact of the collision ejected one occupant in the SUV and injured three more.
The driver of the Dodge, was identified as 36-year-old Ashley Rochelle. She was rushed to Southeast Texas Medical Center with her 5-year-old child for further treatment. Their injuries were considered non-life threatening.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 64-year Sandra Harlan, and her passenger, Robert Harlan, were airlifted to St. Elizabeth with serious injuries.
An investigation is underway.
