Jacksonville – Pedestrian Seriously Injured by Car on S Jackson St

A major auto versus pedestrian crash on South Jackson Street sent one person to a hospital, Monday evening.
Just before 9:00 p.m., local police officers responded to the intersection of South Jackson Street to assist in a crash involving a pedestrian. According to initial reports, a pedestrian was seen walking across the road when he was struck by a southbound vehicle that was in the outside lane. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was hospitalized in a medical center in Jacksonville with extensive injuries. He was then airlifted to a hospital in Tyler where he was listed in an unknown condition.
Authorities did not release information about the driver who struck the victim.
No one else was injured.
The Jacksonville Police Department continues to investigate the accident. No citations have been issued at this time.
