Hutchinson – Motorcycle Accident on SH 136

A motorcycle collision on State Highway 136 caused the death of one person, Saturday afternoon, April 28.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on SH 136 near Borger. A 2013 Chevrolet Sonic was seen traveling along the highway when it struck a 2009 Harley motorcycle. Police said that the rider was switching lanes when, for yet unknown reasons, he fell onto the roadway and got ran over by the Chevrolet. The vehicle then veered off the road and crashed into trees.
The rider, identified only as a 61-year-old man, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 20-year-old woman, was on her phone when she struck the rider.
