Hudspeth County – Socorro Man Killed in Rollover Crash on US Highway 62/180

A fatal single vehicle accident on US Highway 62/180 resulted in one death and injuries to another person, Sunday night.

At around 10:00 p.m., DPS local officials received a call reporting an auto crash on Highway 62/180. According to the report, a Hummer was traveling along the eastbound lane of the highway, at milepost 67, when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, it drifted off the roadway. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Adrian Serrano, tried to go back to the road but failed. The vehicle then rolled over several times, ejecting Serrano and his passenger who was identified as 32-year-old Edgar Galvan Garcia.

The impact of the crash seriously injured Serrano. He was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition. Garcia also sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police are still determining why Serrano veered off the road.
