Hudspeth County – Fiery Crash on Interstate 10

A fatal vehicle collision resulted in the deaths of two people on Interstate 10 East, just five miles from Sierra Blanca, Friday evening.
Initial investigation indicates that the incident occurred on I-10 East at mile marker 103. Police said that a semi-truck had been traveling along the eastbound lanes of the highway when it struck the rear side of another truck that was heading in the same direction. The semi-truck burst into flames upon impact.
Two occupants in the semi-truck were pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded to the scene. They were only identified as 63-year-old and 64-year-old residents of Springtown.
The driver of the truck and his passenger sustained undisclosed injuries from the impact. They were both transported to Culberson County Hospital where they received proper medical treatment.
