HPD respond to fatal crash near HBU Stadium

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed following a single-vehicle collision in southwest Phoenix early this morning.
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred within the 7200 block of Beechnut Street, near Fondren Road at about 6:50 a.m.
Police say the unidentified 62-year-old man behind the wheel of a Honda CRV was heading westbound when his vehicle crossed over the raised median. The vehicle then crossed all eastbound lanes and slammed into the face at a nearby apartment complex.
The Honda struck two SUVs before coming to a rest in the apartment parking lot.
Paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
