HPD reports early-morning truck accident on Hwy 59

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police reported a major collision involving two trucks in central Houston early this morning.
Major Crash: Outbound US 59 @ Gulf Fwy. 18 wheeler v white truck. Expect delays. Avoid the area. #hounews #houtraffic CC8

The accident happened near the interchange between Hwy 59 and the Gulf Freeway and was reported by authorities at 4:07 a.m.
The crash involved the collision of a white truck and an 18-wheeler truck.
There is no word at this time on possible injuries from the accident.
Authorities did not release the cause of the accident or the identities of the drivers.
Travelers were warned to avoid the area, as major traffic delays and closures were likely.
