HPD officer’s car flips over after being hit by driver in Midtown

HOUSTON, TX – A Houston Police Department officer’s car flipped over after being hit by a driver in Midtown this morning, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The other driver reportedly ran a red light at the intersection of Hamilton Street and Gray Street, hitting the officer’s patrol vehicle. The force of the crash flipped over the officer’s car, but he was not seriously hurt. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The driver in the other vehicle fled the scene on foot. Officers are currently searching for him as he is now facing potential hit-and-run charges.
