HPD issues press release on fatal South Loop collision

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has issued a press release regarding the fatal collision that took place on South Loop on the morning of Tuesday, August 4.
The department says the 22-year-old victim was traveling near 5500 South Loop East in a green Honda Civic when he suddenly switched lanes and veered across several main lanes of traffic. He then hit a tree in the freeway’s median and was thrown from the vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene.
The victim has not been identified.
