HPD investigating fatal hit-and-run wreck on Almeda Road

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run wreck that took place on Almeda Road on the night of Sunday, September 13.
A press release from the department states that a 47-year old woman was attempting to cross the road at 5000 Almeda Road when she was hit by a passing green Ford F-150. According to police, the driver was attempting to pass a vehicle stopped in a moving lane of traffic.
The driver did not remain at the scene. The victim was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was declared dead. If you have information about the incident, contact the Houston Police.
