Houston – Woman Killed in I-10 Wrong Way Crash Identified

The 32-year-old woman who was pronounced deceased in a fatal vehicle accident has been named by Houston law enforcement officials, a local news source reported.
At around 6:30 a.m., local troopers received a notification reporting a car accident on Interstate 10. According to the report, a vehicle was traveling in the opposite side of the highway when it crashed into a Toyota Tacoma that was heading west. The impact sent the Toyota into the path of a 2018 Kenworth Truck. Fortunately, the driver of the truck was not hurt. He was later identified as 65-year-old Guy Pearson.
The driver of the wrong-way car suffered from major injuries and died at the scene. Investigators said she was 32-year-old off-duty officer Gizelle Solorio.
Area authorities are still determining the reason why Solorio was in the wrong way.
