At least one person was injured after a vehicle collision on Sam Houston Parkway last February 2, a local news source says.

According to initial reports, the wreck involving a tractor-trailer took place via the side of the North Sam Houston Parkway. A vehicle was traveling along the road when, for yet unknown reasons, it struck the back of a tractor-trailer. How the crash took place is yet to be determined by local authorities.

The impact of the collision seriously injured the driver who was identified only as a woman. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the female driver was not wearing a seat belt during the time of the incident.

No additional details were made available as the crash remains under investigation.

We are deeply saddened for the family and loved ones of the injured victim. Our prayers and thoughts are with them. We strongly believe that the Houston Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

Texas is among the states in the US that have the most car accidents which involved injuries and fatalities every year. Some of the common factors contributing to the rising cases of collisions in the area include the worsening traffic situation, weather conditions, and poor driving habits.

Bad driving habits are the greatest cause of a fatal crash. It can be lethal to the person behind the wheel, as well as the drivers on the road. Drivers who do not use their signal to change lanes or those who do not secure their blind spots before shifting direction are more likely to be involved in an accident. Some of the most dangerous driving habits include speeding, unsafe lane change, tailgating, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you or someone you love has been a victim of a car accident with a negligent driver, you have a right to fair compensation for the trauma you experienced and the injuries you have suffered.
