Houston – Teenager Dies Following Beltway 8 Collision

A teenage driver died after getting involved in a car accident on Beltway 8, Sunday morning.
According to Houston police, a vehicle was traveling along the freeway near Galveston Road when, for yet unknown reasons, it got rear-ended by another car. The description of the hitting vehicle was not immediately released by local officials.
The driver, identified only as a 19-year-old female teenager, sustained life-threatening injuries from the impact of the collision. She was pronounced dead by medical crews who responded to the scene. Authorities said that he car was either driving slowly along the highway or had stopped
There were no reports of other injuries.
An investigation to determine the circumstances that lead up to the incident is still in progress.
