Houston – Speeding Driver Caused Crash on Westheimer Rd

A major crash on Westheimer Road near South Dairy Ashford caused the death of a woman, Saturday morning.
Just after 9:00 a.m., Houston local officers responded to the 12800 block of Westheimer Road to assist in a crash involving a reckless driver. Initial investigation shows that an undescribed vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed when it ignored a red light and collided with another car driven by a 21-year-old female driver. The woman died due to the injuries she sustained from the force of the impact. Two more occupants were taken to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries. It was not confirmed if they were released after they were given medical treatment.
The speeding driver was charged with manslaughter and reckless aggravated assault. He was only identified as 29-year-old man.
