Houston – Police Officer Greg Sammon Struck by Pickup Truck on North Loop 610

The Houston Police Department has released the name of the Roman Forest police officer who got dragged by a vehicle along North Loop 610, Monday morning.
According to initial reports, police officer Greg Sammon and a Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office deputy was assisting a truck along North Loop 610, just before 10:00 a.m., prior to the collision. A pickup truck that was passing by, for yet unknown reasons, struck the rear side of Sammon’s motorcycle, dragging it at an unspecified distance. The truck completely stopped near Kirkpatrick.
Sammon sustained various injuries as a result of the collision. He was immediately transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was listed in unknown condition. Authorities said that his injuries are not life-threatening.
No words on whether the truck driver was injured or not. He remained at the scene and is cooperating with local investigators.
