Houston – Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Car on Westheimer Road

The Houston Police Department has yet to release details about a fatal pedestrian collision which killed one person on Westheimer Road, Saturday evening.
According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 8:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of Westheimer Road, right in front of a mall. Police said that a person was struck by a sport utility vehicle leaving him with serious injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. His identification has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
Authorities did not release information about the driver and the description of the vehicle involved. It was also unclear whether or not he stayed at the scene.
The District Attorney will determine if any charges will be filed, according to a local news source.
