Authorities are still looking into what led up to a pedestrian collision that killed one person on Gessner Road, last week Thursday.
The Houston Police Department responded to the 900 block of Gessner Road after receiving a report of a crash. According to reports, a person was crossing the road when it was hit by a black Ford Explorer. Based on the initial investigation, the pickup truck was exiting a parking lot when it struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, identified only as a woman, was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment. However, last January 24, he succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead by authorities. Her identification has not yet been disclosed.
The crash remains under investigation. Whether or not the driver of the pickup truck will face charges is still unknown.
Our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased victim. May God grant you the strength you need to get through this difficult moment in your life. We strongly believe that the Houston Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
