Houston – Pedestrian Crash on FM 1960

The Department of Public Safety is investigating a car crash on West Farm to Market Road 1960 near Bypass Road, Monday.

According to the initial investigation, the incident happened at the 8900 block of W FM 1960 near Humble. Police said a man was walking along the roadway when a passing vehicle, traveling at an unsafe speed, struck him. The pedestrian ended up being dragged by the car, leaving him fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews when they arrived at the scene.

The vehicle sped off without rendering aid to the victim. The driver was later arrested for failure to stop and provide assistance to the victim. He is also suspected of DUI.

No other information was provided at this time.

An investigation is underway.
