When emergency crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the Honda Civic. Its driver, whose name was not released, was extracted from the back seat of the car, unconscious. He was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities said that another person died in the crash. However, they did not specify if he was a passenger or a driver of the Camry. No identification has been released.
Our sincerest sympathies to the victim of this unfortunate event. We pray for their full recovery as we hope that the Houston Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
Car collisions are extremely prevalent in Texas. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, one person is getting injured in every two minutes. Unfortunately, despite the government’s aggressive efforts to educate drivers about safety, cases of speeding, driving under the influence, and negligence are still on the rise. In fact, most of the common causes of accidents in the state are due to the driver’s lack of awareness and precaution.
Knowing the statistics helps us to be more aware of how our choices can affect other people’s lives. So before you hit the road, it is important to check your engine–ensure your all your tires are well-aligned and brakes are working properly–and see to it that you are also physically and emotionally able to be on the road.
