Houston – Man hospitalized in a crash on Interstate 10

A fatal car accident sent one man to a hospital on Interstate 10 near Barker Cypress. According to initial reports, the major wreck occurred at around 1:30 a.m., Tuesday. An 18-wheeler truck was heading west on Interstate 10 when, for yet unknown reasons, it rear-ended a Chevrolet pickup. The force of the impact sent the pickup into a concrete barrier on the shoulder, landing on the side of the freeway.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries. He was transported to Memorial Hermann in serious condition. The driver of the 18-wheeler truck was not hurt.
No identification was released. Local officials arrived at the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
