A 41-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Telephone Road, last Thursday evening.
According to reports, the major wreck occurred at about 6:00 p.m. The pedestrian was walking outside of the crosswalk on Telephone Road near Red Robin Lane when he was struck by two vehicles. The impact of the collision killed the victim instantly.
Authorities identified the pedestrian as Juan Carlos Salgado from Southeast Houston. Salgado was a Good Samaritan who rendered aid to the victims of a crash three weeks ago. He extracted a Houston police officer from his vehicle that was engulfed with flames following a fatal crash that injured another officer.
Preliminary investigation shows that Salgado was crossing a dimly lit road during the time of the accident. Several streetlights in the area were also non-functional.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
We express our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased victim. May God grant you the strength you need to get through this difficult moment in your life. We strongly believe that authorities will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
We believe that when someone loses a loved one from a car accident, they do not only suffer emotionally but financially as well. If you or your loved one is a victim of a car accident caused by wrongful actions or due to negligence, you may have the right to file for legal claims. Most of the time, families who are left behind after a tragic loss are not aware of their rights and the legal processes needed to obtain fair and just compensation. In times like this, you would need a professional who can provide you with all the support you need as you go through this difficult time.
