A fatal car accident took the life of one person on State Highway 171, police say.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident happened at about 6:10 p.m. when a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck failed to yield for vehicles traveling south. As it was about to take a turn into a driveway, it was then rear-ended by another truck. The truck then veered onto the traffic where it crashed into another car, a 2012 Kia Soul.
The collision killed the driver of the Kia Soul. He was later identified as 20-year-old Bayli Paige Carney, a resident of Granbury. The driver of the Ford F-150 pickup truck was identified as 59-year-old Glenda Louise Chochran. The extent of her injuries remains unknown but it was reported that she was taken to a hospital where she received treatment.
Further details are yet to be released as the investigation is underway.
With sincerest sympathies, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. We strongly believe that the Arlington Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
