The driver involved in a fatal Grand Parkway crash last December has been indicted, according to police.
Based on the investigation, a pick up truck was traveling along the westbound lanes of Highway 99 FM Road 2920 when it suddenly crossed the center median, went airborne, and landed on the other side of the highway. The vehicle then struck several vehicles, leaving twisted metal and shattered glasses on the road. The impact of the collision killed two people in the process. They were identified as Michael Brown and Linda Fuggiti. They are driving a silver Chevy crossover and Lexus respectively.
The driver was identified as 54-year-old Charles Glaze. He is facing two counts of manslaughter which carry a total punishment of up to 40 years in prison if he’s convicted.
Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased victims. We understand that losing a loved one could be devastating.
Car Accidents in the USA
According to statistics, more than 3,000 people are killed in car accidents each year. In the year 2016 alone, a total of 14,217 crashes were recorded with 17,602 people sustaining serious injuries. Most of the collisions occur due to negligence or because a driver is not completely paying attention behind the wheel. They could be distracted by their phones or their focus was somewhere else.
In an unfortunate event that you were involved in a car accident, it is important for you to stay calm. You need to ensure that you act responsibly and in accordance with the law. If you are injured, do not try to move, instead, call or wait for help.
Once the investigation has been completed, you can file a lawsuit to make sure that you are properly compensated for damages—be it for your property, physical injury, and even pain and suffering.
