Houston – Elderly Woman Died after Getting Hit by a Car on Fondren Rd

The Houston Police Department is investigating an auto versus pedestrian accident on Fondren Road which killed an elderly woman last October 16.

Just after 10:00 a.m., Houston officers responded to the 6800 block of Fondren Road to assist in a crash. According to the report, a black Honda Pilot was heading south on the roadway when it struck a woman while attempting to make a turn towards Bellaire Boulevard. The woman, identified only as an 86-year-old woman, suffered from major injuries from the force of the impact. She was rushed to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Honda stayed at the scene until authorities arrived. He is being questioned. It’s not confirmed if he will be facing any charges.

Area investigators said the woman was crossing northbound in the crosswalk.
