Houston – Child Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver on Aldine Bender Road

The Houston Police Department is investigating an auto versus pedestrian collision on Aldine Bender Road in Harris County, Friday evening.
According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Aldine Bender and Imperial Valley Drive. Police said that a child, identified only as a nine-year-old boy, was running around a playground when a passing car struck him. The driver of the undescribed vehicle did not render aid to the boy and escaped the scene.
The victim suffered a foot injury and was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Authorities said that he is expected to recover.
Local officials have yet to determine the identity of the hit-and-run driver and the location of the vehicle involved.
The crash remains under investigation.
