Houston – Child Dies in Fatal Interstate 10 Car Accident

The Houston Police Department has identified the child who died following a tragic vehicle collision on Interstate 10 East, last Wednesday.
According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 6:00 a.m. near San Jacinto River. Police said that a large truck suddenly shifted onto another lane, prompting a crash with a family car. The force of the impact caused the car to flip over and fell upside down on the embankment.
The driver of the family car sustained serious injuries from the crash. He was rushed to a local hospital by Life Flight. Authorities said that a four-year-old passenger, identified as Andrea Salas, died as a result of the collision. Her mother, whose identity has not been released, did not suffer from any injury.
No words on the driver of the truck. An investigation is underway.
