Houston – Car Pile-Up on Interstate 45 Injures 3

At least 11 vehicles were involved in a major vehicle collision on Interstate 45 in Houston, early Monday morning.
Police said that the wreck took place just after 6:00 a.m. on Interstate 45 near West Mount Houston Road. An 18-wheeler truck was traveling along the highway when it crashed into several vehicles that had stopped because of a previous accident.
Three occupants in a Hyundai Accent, including two children and an adult, suffered from unknown injuries from the force of the impact. They were immediately taken to a local hospital where they received medical attention. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
At this time, law enforcement officials are working to determine the cause of the incident.
The freeway was shut down for clearing and investigation.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
