Houston – Bicyclist Died in Fatal Vehicle Collision on Barker Cypress Road

Houston law enforcement officials have yet to release ore information about a bicycle versus vehicle crash on Barker Cypress Road, north of Interstate 10, which resulted in the death of one person, early Monday morning.
The accident took place at around 5:30 a.m. on Barker Cypress near South Park View Drive. A bicycle was heading south on the road when it was struck by a pickup truck that was traveling in the same direction. When authorities arrived, they found a man wearing a work uniform, about 50 to 60 years old. A responding officer said the bicycle had a blinking light and was riding along the road that has no sidewalk. He added that the victim had the right of way.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. He did show any sign of impairment, as per local investigators.
The crash remains under investigation.
