Houston – 1 Injured on Almeda Road

A vehicle ended up underneath an 18-wheeler truck after a major car accident on Almeda Road, early Tuesday morning.
At around 5:00 a.m., Houston local officials were dispatched to Almeda Road near West Orem Drive in response to a report of a collision between a car and a truck. A sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed with it collided with a truck approaching the said cross street. Further details regarding the collision are very limited at this time but police said that the incident led to a lengthy shutdown of the intersection.
The driver of the sedan, identified only as a woman, sustained critical injuries as a result of the accident. She was rushed to a local hospital where she received medical treatment. No words on whether the driver of the truck was hurt.
An investigation is underway.
