HOUSTON, TX – One person died and another victim was hospitalized due to a house fire in southeast Houston last night, according to KHOU and KTRK.
The fire occurred at a single-story home in the 5300 block of Greylog Drive, near Airport Boulevard, at about 10 p.m.
The presence of burglar bars on the entry points of the home made it more difficult for firefighters to access the residence.
With the use of thermal cameras, they discovered one victim in the hallway and another in the kitchen.
Both victims were taken to the hospital, and there, one of those people was later pronounced dead.
The second victim is in serious condition.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, which may have started in the bedroom of the home.
