Hillister – Several Injured in 18-Wheeler Truck Collision on FM 1013

Law enforcement officials are investigating a two-vehicle accident on Farm to Market Road 1013 in Hillister, according to the report released by DPS officials.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., police officers were called onto FM 1013 near County Road 4535 to assist in a traffic accident involving a trailer. Initial investigation shows that a 2003 Freightliner tractor trailer was backing into a driveway when a 2004 Ford SUV, heading east on FM 1013, struck its trailer. The Ford ended up underneath the trailer in the process.

Four occupants in the Ford suffered from serious injuries and were all taken to Baptist Hospital where they received medical treatment. Police said the driver of the 18-wheeler semi-trailer was not hurt. No identification has been released at this time.

The DPS is currently looking into the incident to determine liability.
