Hewitt – Girl Struck by a Car on FM 2837

The Texas Department of Public Safety has yet to release more details about an auto vs pedestrian crash on Farm to Market Road 2837, Friday afternoon.

According to reports, DPS troopers responded to FM 2837 at around 4:40 p.m. to assist in a collision near FM-2113, west of Hewitt. A preliminary investigation shows that a nine-year-old girl was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a Honda vehicle that was traveling along the northbound lane. The impact of the crash left the female pedestrian with minor injuries. She was transported to Baylor Scott & White in Waco where she was treated and released.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Hewitt local investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability.

DPS would like to remind pedestrians to look both ways before crossing any street.
