Henderson County – Truck Accident on Indianola Road

A 62-year-old New Boston man died after getting ran over by a dump truck on Indianola Road in Henderson County, Monday morning.
Just after 9:00 a.m., DPS officials received a notification of a crash that took place on Indianola Road, just 5.3 miles southeast of the city of Chandler. A preliminary investigation shows that a 2004 Freightliner truck, a trash service vehicle, was backing up when a passenger on the back of the truck fell and got ran over by the truck. The passenger, identified as Willie Carl Williams Jr., 62, of New Boston, sustained serious injuries and was immediately sent to UT Health for medical treatment. Unfortunately, he later died and was pronounced deceased by Judge Andy Dunklin.
The driver of the truck was identified as William Cedric Veasey, 53, of Tyler. He was not hurt.
It is unclear if the driver will face charges.
