Hedley – 43-year-old Ronald Simpkins Died in Truck Crash on US 287

A 43-year-old driver was pronounced deceased following a vehicle accident on US Highway 287.

DPS troopers said a truck that was pulling two trailers, for yet unknown reasons, drifted into the opposing lanes where it struck the driver side of another vehicle. According to the initial investigation, the vehicle, driven by 43-year-old Ronald Simpkins, tried to avoid the truck but failed. Simpkins sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Another occupant suffered from serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. He was identified as 52-year-old Keith Williams.

No one else was injured.

Hedley police have yet to determine liability. The crash is still under investigation.
