Hearne – Six-Vehicle Crash on SH 6

A car pile up on State Highway 6 south of Hearne injured at least two people, Friday morning.
According to the report released by local officials, the chain-reaction crash took place just after 10:00 a.m. along the northbound lanes of SH 6, just south of FM 2549. Two vehicles were moving slowly as it approaches a vehicle that had stopped in the northbound lane of the highway. Another vehicle approaching the said vehicle was not able to slow down, prompting a chain reaction. A fifth vehicle tried to avoid the stalled cars by swerving but ended up in a ditch, striking a sixth car. Fortunately, only two people sustained injuries as a result of the crash. They were taken to the nearest hospital where they were treated and released.
