HCSO responds to hazardous material spill on the Gulf Freeway

SPRING, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hazardous material spill on the Gulf Freeway this morning.

The spill shut down the freeway in both directions near Spring Cypress Road around 10:22 a.m. this morning. Emergency cleanup crews were immediately dispatched to clear the area. Two southbound lanes were reopened around 11:26 a.m.
The cause of the spill has not been reported by authorities.
