HCSO: Man dies from injuries sustained in June collision on the North Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man died from injuries sustained in a collision that took place on the North Freeway on June 30.

The HCSO says Austin Garrett was driving a 2016 Dodge Challenger near 14800 North Freeway around 5 a.m. He lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a trash truck driving nearby.

After the initial collision, Garrett’s vehicle came to rest but was then hit by a 2012 International ProStar. He was thrown from his car and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

He was declared dead at the hospital on July 19.
