Hazmat spill shuts down 4 lanes on I-610

HOUSTON, TX – An accident involving a hazmat spill caused major delays on I-610 Tuesday morning.
According to a report by Total Traffic Houston, the crash occurred at about 10:15 a.m. on the southbound side of the interstate, near the exit to Memorial Drive.

It is unclear what caused the crash. The type of material spilled across the roadway is also unknown.
The roadway was shut down for some time while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
