Harrison County – Kelvin Dewayne Perkins Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on SH 43

The driver who died in a two-vehicle accident on State Highway 43 has been identified by local officials.
The fatality was identified as 42-year-old Kelvin Dewayne Perkins.
Just before 6:00 a.m., Perkins was seen driving a Ford Mustang when he crashed into a semi-truck that was traveling along the highway. The impact of the crash instantly killed Perkins on scene. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews. Meanwhile, the driver of semi-truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was later identified as 36-year-old Gopinder Singh Mangat.
Based on the initial investigation, Perkins was traveling on the opposite side of the roadway when the incident took place. It was not confirmed if Mangat will be facing charges for the crash.
