Harris County – One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on East Freeway

A person was pronounced deceased after getting struck by a vehicle on East Freeway in east Harris County, Thursday.
According to Harris County deputy officials, the collision took place at 17729 block of East Freeway near Brookshire Street. Initial investigation indicates that the pedestrian was at the middle of the road when he was struck by an 18-wheeler truck traveling along the highway. The truck attempted to slow down to avoid the victim but failed. He sustained injuries and later died.
In the released, the victim was a passenger in an unidentified vehicle when the driver pulled over due to an emergency. For some reasons, the man stepped out of the car and walked into the middle of the road where he was hit by the truck.
No charges are expected to be filed.
