Harris County – Man Struck and Killed by a Car on Texas 249

Harris County law enforcement officials have yet to release more information about an auto-pedestrian collision which caused the death of one person on Highway 249, early Tuesday morning.
According to initial reports, the incident was reported at around 3:30 a.m. When police officers responded to Highway 249 near West Park Drive and North Houston Rosslyn Road, they found a male pedestrian at the shoulder of the road. He was pronounced deceased by medical emergency personnel.
Police said that a man was attempting to cross the freeway when he was struck by a Hyundai Sonata that was heading southeast. Initially, the driver continued driving but later returned to the scene of the crash after dropping by at a nearby gas station.
A toxicology report will be conducted as part of the investigation.
