Harris County — Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 249

A car accident involving a wrong way driver Highway 249 in NW Harris County resulted in three deaths, Saturday morning.
According to initial reports, a vehicle was seen driving the wrong way on State Highway 249 and crashed into another car that was crossing the highway at Hollister Road. Based on a preliminary investigation, the car struck had a go signal during the time of the incident.
Two occupants in the vehicle died as a result of the crash. Their identifications have not been released pending notification of their immediate family.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle sustained injuries from the impact. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Local investigators arrived at the scene to determine what caused the driver to went in the opposite direction. They believe the suspect was impaired, given the circumstances.
