Harris County – 12-year-old Boy Dies in a Tragic Crash on Highway 249

Harris County sheriff officials are is investigating a fatal car accident involving a drunk driver on Highway 249, Thursday night.
The fatality was identified as JoAnthony Harrison. According to initial reports, JoAnthony was in a sports utility vehicle driven by 35-year-old LaTonya Harrison. The SUV was traveling along the highway when it was rear-ended by a white Infiniti car.
Emergency crews transported JoAnthony to Houston Northwest Hospital he has since succumbed to the injuries sustained from the collision. LaTonya and a three-year-old passenger were also rushed to a local hospital for further care.
No one else was injured.
Authorities are still determining whether the driver of the Infiniti was impaired during the time of the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
